(Mini-con report)

Animazement 2011:

I figured it's time I post to update my cosplay news. I recently went to Animazement this year and was presently surprised. It is a con about the size of Katsucon and based in NC. I was originally going to go to meet my gal, , but a lot changed in my life. I wasn't sure if I was still planning to go and I am glad I did. They offered interesting list of panels and a list of English and Japanese guests in the industry. The venue for the con offered parking that was cheap, the accommodations were really nice, and most of the attendees/staff were friendly. One of the most impressive lil' things was the programs they handed out. It was a well glossed booklet that was a nice size. It went over the con as well as post pictures of each guest and under their picture was a space for their signatures if you were patient to wait in line to see them. The minuses were few. 1)The completely cancelled a signing for one of the guests for the line being supposedly *too long* and that the program itself should have had the map of the con instead of a side map. 2) The panel lists were also on three separate pamphlets which was odd to scan through but not impossible. Other than those small gripes I enjoyed it and it was worth the five hour drive.

In other news...Otakon will be the next con coming up. I am juggling between trying to simplify a new cosplay or rehashing one of my former cosplays. Rena Lanford/Star Ocean: The Second Story ( if ) would like to return my wig) or Meryl Silverburgh/Metal Gear Solid. The newest ideas were possibly Summoner Yuna or Eureka from Eureka Seven. I am working on my sewing skills and with help I am progressing with my skills working on styling wigs. I am also going to dabble with my prop skills once I find a con to debut my Lady/Mary from Devil May Cry 3. And that's all for now I feel like poop and it's hard to focus on typing anymore tonight.
